The island has maintained a delicate equilibrium between the monarchy, the magic council, and the general population. With Independence having been around for a little over 150 years, the country has been evolving and adapting at an incredible rate; with this progress came turmoil, and now a serpent has risen from the shadows - the island faces newfound peril, causing an unforeseen test for it's citizens. The previously smooth operation of their society now stands at a crossroad, with uncertainty looming over the future. โ 95% custom lore: while set in the real world, it is years in advance and countries have custom lore attached to them. What do you see? The great feats of Beren and Lรบthien, of Hรบrin, of Tuor and of Eรคrendil are distant legends, and the Free Peoples are under threat. Sauron was destroyed at the end of the War of the Last Alliance, or so it was thought. After two millennia of respite, dark forces have taken root again, and the Free Peoples are weakening. The Elves of the Woodland Realm and Lothlรณrien have come under attack from the fortress of Dol Guldur, once thought abandoned. Orcs have entered the realm of Khazad-dรปm and are fighting with every ounce of their worth to wrest Durin's kingdom hall by hall. Orcs from Mount Gram are harassing the Greenfields of the Shire and wargs have come down from the mountains. The Witch-Realm of Angmar has been destroyed, but the Men of Gondor and the Elves of Lindon were unable to save Arthedain or their capital of Fornost, and the last holdout of old Arnor is fallen. Worse yet, the Ringwraiths have returned in force and retaken the dread land of Mordor from a sickening Gondor. As forces mass on either side, it is only a matter of time before the hard-won peace is shattered and war again consumes Middle-Earth. The Wizards are far afield, and the Heroes are off on distant adventures, so it falls to the ordinary people of the West to secure their lands from evil and to ensure a future for Elves, Men, Dwarves and Hobbits. A great Calamity fell over the world, humanity had grown complacent and far too reliant on their Gods. After a century of death, one God returned. Nanyamka, goddess of gifts and patron of the kingdom of Papilles. She took mortal form and advised the Crown Prince, instructing him to kill the Regent and take the throne. Meanwhile, in New Garden, a similar assassination has taken place: the king, found bloodstained in his chambers one morning, dead on the scene. His son quickly rose to power and blamed Papilles for the death of his father, inciting anger at the northern country within his people. Tension brews on the island of Falavara.
